Battling changing track conditions and the stiff Formula Ford competition in Europe, the Wayside N.J. driver advanced to the final and ultimately scored a top ten finish.

Formula Ford Festival – Hindman learns quickly at Brands Hatch

As any foreign exchange student can tell you, one of the challenges of travelling abroad is learning the local customs of the country you visit. For Team USA Scholarship driver Trent Hindman, a trip to England and the Brands Hatch Circuit meant learning how they race Formula Fords in Europe. While the 40th edition of the Formula Ford Festival didn’t end up as he would have liked, the Wayside N.J. driver quickly adapted to their more aggressive and tactical style of racing, and like most foreign exchange students, he can’t wait to go back for more.

Skip Barber National: Hindman earns Rookie of the Year honors

A week after claiming the Ontario Formula Ford Championship, MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development driver Trent Hindman travelled to northwest Connecticut and Lime Rock Park to try and wrest the BFGoodrich/Skip Barber National Presented by Mazda championship from points leader Scott Anderson. While he earned Rookie of the Year honors, a second championship in as many weeks was not in the cards for the Wayside, N.J. driver.

MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development driver Trent Hindman’s hot Summer continued into the Fall this past weekend at Mosport International Raceway, where he scored two wins from pole and secured the 2011 Ontario Formula Ford Championship and Rookie of the Year honors, despite missing the opening rounds of the season. Now all Hindman has to do is attempt to overcome a 15-point deficit in the last two races of the BFGoodrich/Skip Barber National Presented by Mazda this weekend at Lime Rock Park before heading over to England to race with Team USA Scholarship. And all while working to keep up with his studies during his Junior year in high school.

Skip Barber National: Hindman wins again at Lime Rock Park

Trent Hindman’s three-week, 2,000 mile (give or take a few miles) Summer tour of eastern North America wrapped up this past weekend at Lime Rock Park with the MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development driver picking up a pole and a dominant win in BFGoodrich/Skip Barber National Presented by Mazda competition. In doing so, the Wayside, N.J. driver extended his season long Skip Barber National Top 5 finish streak to 12, closed in on the Top 2 in the championship and further cemented his claim on the Rookie of the Year title.
