Hindman Joins BGR Team Grote

May 25, 2011
BGR Team Grote is pleased to announce that 15 year-old Trent Hindman will join the team starting with the upcoming Formula Tour 1600 support race to the Canadian Formula One Grand Prix, and continue through the 12 remaining rounds of the 2011 Ontario Formula Ford Championship.

The highly-regarded Hindman is currently running the BFGoodrich/Skip Barber National Presented by Mazda series, and is coming off an impressive showing in the USF2000 Winterfest Championship with the podium finishes. The former Stars of Karting National Champion and MAZDASPEED Motorsports Driver Development racer will be doing some private testing with BGR Team Grote prior to his Formula Ford debut.

“We are very excited to welcome Trent to the team,” stated team principal Brian Graham. “He is familiar with our program, as he is friends with some of our alumni. Our best advertising is our past customers, as former BGR racers Conor Daly, Spencer Pigot, Josef Newgarden and others continue to recommend us to their karting friends. It means allot to us that they support us in our goal to provide drivers a good environment to make the switch to cars from karting. We have won the OFFC Rookie of the Year award for five straight seasons, and while Trent has missed our first weekend, we are confident he can challenge for the ROY with 12 rounds still remaining.”

Hindman will be joining Ayrton Triolo, Chris Vlok, and 2010 OFFC B Class Champion Kieran Murphy under the BGR Team Grote tent for the F1 support event on June 11-12 in Montreal, Que., and then make his OFFC debut at the 2011 version of the CanAm Cup event held at Mosport International Raceway on June 25-26.

BGR Team Grote will be busy with three different FF championships this summer, the Formula Tour 1600 season-opener is this coming weekend (May 28-29) at Mont Tremblant, then the following weekend, sitting fifth in points in the new US-based F1600 Formula F Championship, the team will be traveling to Watkins Glen International as a support race for the Grand Am 6 Hours event. Directly following that will be the F1 weekend, and then the CanAm Cup. It is just the beginning of the season, and the team is already geared up to challenge for wins in all three series.
