Trent Hindman’s three-week, 2,000 mile (give or take a few miles) Summer tour of eastern North America wrapped up this past weekend at Lime Rock Park with the MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development driver picking up a pole and a dominant win in BFGoodrich/Skip Barber National Presented by Mazda competition. In doing so, the Wayside, N.J. driver extended his season long Skip Barber National Top 5 finish streak to 12, closed in on the Top 2 in the championship and further cemented his claim on the Rookie of the Year title.

When we last left MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development driver Trent Hindman, he was on Interstate 71 south of Cleveland, Ohio on the front end of a 1,500 mile road trip that took him from his Wayside, New Jersey west to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and north to Mosport International Raceway before returning home to Wayside. Four days later, Hindman is resting up at home before heading to Lime Rock Park in a few days for Rounds 11 and 12 of the 2011 BFGoodrich/Skip Barber National Presented by Mazda season.

On a normal Friday prior to an Ontario Formula Ford Championship weekend at Mosport International Raceway, MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development driver Trent Hindman would take the short drive from his Wayside, N.J. home to Liberty International Airport in Newark, jump on a short flight, possibly connecting through Detroit, to Pearson International Airport outside Toronto and then jump into a rental car for the half hour ride to Bowmanville and Mosport. But this is no normal Friday and this will not be a normal race weekend for Hindman.
